Know your own strengths and weaknesses
We all have things that we are good at, which we do better than other people. On the other side of the coin, we also have weaknesses because we honestly cannot be good at everything. However, we can still believe in ourselves and our capabilities and still have something to offer the world without highlighting our shortcomings.
Often at times we put ourselves down with negative thoughts to the point where we end up winning in believing about ourselves that we cannot do certain things. We need to start changing these thoughts about ourselves and start believing that we can be more than we are right now, that we can do more than what we are doing now and that we can achieve more of what we want to achieve.
Most of us have a habit of telling ourselves that we cannot do certain things, to the point where our minds start believing them. The negative thoughts that we are always telling ourselves end up becoming our reality, because we limit our thoughts and our minds, and we end up becoming less of who we are and we achieve less than what we should because of the barriers that we have put for ourselves.
Self belief is extremely important and it does determine how far we go. Not believing in oneself introduces the issue of self doubt, and if you constantly tell yourself that you cannot do a certain thing, your mind will start believing it and you will find that you will not be able to do it or achieve it. Whatever you tell your mind, it is going to believe that.
If you were to sit down and think about your strengths and weaknesses and talk to people who know you, you can come up with a decent list of things that you are good at. Those are the things that you should focus on doing and be the best in, because as you get victory over those things, your belief in yourself will increase.
For the things that you are less good at, you can make a point of improving on those areas, especially if it is an area that you feel that you should be good in. We should constantly be growing and evolving, and we should not be stuck in one place.
It is important that we believe great things about ourselves, and get rid of the negative beliefs that we have. Take some time and think about what you believe about yourself to be true. For the negative things, you need to write a positive statement that counteracts the negative statement about you, and that will be the new belief that is supposed to replace the old one. Just writing it down is not enough, you need to see it, meditate on it and affirm it to yourself until you start believing it.
Say it out loud every single day as you change your beliefs about yourself. Focus on what you excel in and build the confidence that will catapult you to the next level of where you want to be.
If you can focus on you and who you want to be, you can embrace your strengths and weaknesses, and be able to believe positive things about you that will see you becoming the best that you can be.
