Let go of negative energy

Negative energy and negative people are all around us, and there is not much that we can do about that. What we do have control over is the amount of time that we spend with them, and how we allow their negativity to affect our lives. We all have someone that we know in our lives, whether it is a relative, a friend or a colleague, who carries negative energy, and it seems like the only things that come out of their mouths are negative things.

The problem with entertaining negative thoughts or being around negative people is that you start believing the dark picture that they are painting about life, and you too start expecting the worst out of every situation. It is said that you attract what you think about, so if you are constantly entertaining negative people and negative energy, do not be surprised when things do not go well in your life.

When it comes to dealing with the negative people in your life, enforce positivity when you are around them. Insist on talking about something positive that is happening in their life or in yours. Just steer the conversation from the normal negative talk that they normally engage in, and talk about what you want to talk about.

Another way that may seem drastic to a lot of people is to stay away from someone like that. If you spend less time with them, you are then reducing the amount of time that you are devoting to the negativity of the situation. This may not be easy to do, especially if it is someone very close to you, so you might have to focus more on getting the conversation centered on more positive things.

When it comes to negative thoughts, you can choose whether to let them into your mind or to dismiss them. For most of us, it is a constant battle and it is something that you have to do constantly, at least in the beginning before you get used to it. If you let them dominate your thoughts, they will win time and time again, and you will find yourself not looking forward to anything good in your life.

It is very easy to feel sorry for yourself, especially when life treats you unfairly. You need to consciously think about what you are thinking about, this is the only way you will be aware of the kind of negative thoughts that you are allowing to get inside of you. This is a very bad habit that needs focus for you to be able to break, but once you start allowing more positive thoughts in and you are constantly training your mind, your mind will get to a point where it recognizes a negative thought from a mile away and it will be able to deal with it quickly.

One of the quickest ways to get rid of a negative thought is to think about something positive that happened in the past. Try and force your mind there and relive the experience, and if you stay long enough on that memory, you will kick the negative thoughts out, and you will feel what you felt when you had the beautiful memory.

Negative thoughts and people do nothing for you, except to bring you down and take you steps away from experiencing the kind of happiness and success that you want for yourself. Start controlling what you think about and surround yourself with more positive people, then watch how your life changes.
